Loved the cozy atmosphere and the beautiful Christmas decor, it. The sunny garden was perfect for relaxing with a hot drink while the kids played, creating lovely family memories. The only hiccup was some barking from dogs but that didn't ruin our time at all! 😊

We were in Grasmere for 1 day, had very relaxing stay, the hotel was clean with brilliant location in a beautiful area. The staff was incredible and exceptional all the time. Location: the property was so close to the Lake District, lake and beautiful village, and Grasmere centre.

The staff were professional and friendly, breakfasts were excellent. Good location, close to some great walks where you can leave your car in the hotel car park. We were at the back of the hotel so we did not hear any noise from the main road. Dining room pleasant to eat in. Plenty of parking and just a short walk to Grasmere centre.
The only issues were the condition of the corridors and for the price of the Excecutive room it was not of the standard I would expect. The bathroom was small and the tiling needed re doing and the sink was stained. Perhaps a cheaper price for this room would be better.

Nice old-fashioned hotel, nice garden in the back. Cosy room. Warming bar for towels. Friendly doorman who even helped carrying the suitcases. Lavish breakfast buffet.
Hotel was located on a very busy road. Very winding house, rooms hard to find

Enjoyed a warm, nice experience with a beautiful, upgraded room. The dining area features blazing log burners. Tip, the cooked-to-order breakfast stands out, so don't miss it!

Traditional atmosphere, upscale, well-attended hiking hotel. Very good hiking suggestions. Good if you don't want to sleep right in the summer hustle and bustle of the Lake District. Breakfast carefully prepared.
Location on Druchgangsstrasse = somewhat noisy for the price

Charming stay with minor issues
Enjoyed a peaceful night in a cozy budget room with fine views. Although service was slow during dinner, the steak was cooked perfectly. A tip, try to avoid peak dining hours for a smoother experience. A lovely location despite some service hiccups!

We enjoyed the peace & quiet. We were on our wedding anniversary,(35yrs).& on the same day as the royal couple. We didn't receive any preferential treatments, but we did enjoy are stay.
All the staff were friendly, helpful & very cheerful, nothing was to much trouble for them.however we did think £8.50 for 2 bottles of still water was very, very expensive. This did shock us.

The location was lovely and the hotel was very nice. The room was well decorated and very comfortable and clean
We met for a family reunion - 4 couples all middle aged. We had a nice evening meal but the courses were luke warm only and the service was on the one hand over fussy (we do not need to have our napkins placed on our knees) and on the other hand poor (my sister had tea splashed over her and although we asked for more bread at breakfast the person who asked was given one slice and then the basket was taken away!). On the Saturday evening the 8 of us were sitting in the bar having a quiet drink and chat and the bar was shut at 10.30 p.m.! This is disgraceful for a Saturday night when there are residents in the bar who are drinking in (very expensive) rounds.
